Maybe a regular question time - like Tues am - so we don't feel we are interrupting other projects. Perhaps produce a sheet on word - shortcuts, how to format etc

How services could be improved:

more time spent coaching new staff and students through what they can do with their computers and how Monash systems work

a printed card of services and who to contact

regular updates on the IT scene

Continuous training for the whole faculty, updates on leading edge technologies, appropriate technological solutions to implement, keep faculty abreast of technology

Greater availability of assistance on Gippsland Campus other than once a week or less

Improved communication re teaching rooms and the computer hardware/software which is in them.
Often probelms during lunchtime seminars and no it staff around perhaps staggered lunch hours

Actually the service is pretty good esp new hardware in teaching rooms.
Should get an email when a job is registered so that we know that it's in hand? But techs usually phone and that's ok

As a part time phd student, I come to the campus only once per month. I need more e-mailed or snail mailed information about what computer staff can do for me, and also what monash offers me in terms of computer access and computer programmes/packages. I have very little idea what you do or offer.

Attitudes towards everyday training issues (not introduction of a new softwear program, but day-to-day improvement of our use of basic softwear) is essential to improve our work output, ease our work load and empower us to provide a better quality service to students.

The ICT services are absolutely excellent . All the staff have a very high standard of professionalism, the service provided is timely, responsive, in most cases solves the problem. Where there is an ongoing problem the staff have been proactive in solution seeking.

There have been so many changes to the staff to support the web-design area that it is often difficult to know whom to contact and for what - this area of support is less well delineated and therefore less effective

It is difficult when you only have access to support on campus I day per week because so much has built up by then that unless you problem is urgent it may not get looked at.

So far I haven't really used your services much so it's hard for me to speak to many of these issues (e.g., I haven't made an "urgent request" yet so I don't know what the average response time is). All of my experiences have been very pleasant. Also I'm not positive which services are Education ITS and which are the university ITS.

I have not needed to use the services very often, but on the few occasions I have, I have been most impressed by the helpfulness, friendliness and professional support every single time. Thanks so much.
