Macintosh access to Novell files on campusCurrently, Macintosh users within the Faculty are often unaware of Novell access to different drives (often referred to as the V: or U: drives in Windows). In Windows, Novell access to these drives is automatic as users must login to the Novell network to have access to printing and these extra drives. It is also possible for Macintosh users to have access to these same drives so that sharing of documents and information is possible. Below you will find the steps necessary to gain access to Novell drives and shared folders. Please note that these instructions will only work from a Macintosh computer located on the Monash campus. If you wish to access these Novell drives and folders from home, please load and install the Monash Macintosh VPN software, run it, then follow the instructions below. Step 1: You MUST use the Safari Browser for this function to work. The icon looks like this: Step 2: Make sure you have this page open in Safari, then click this link to connect to the Education Novell server. Step 3: Login with your Authcate username and password when prompted. Step 4: Once your username & password have been accepted, you will be prompted to select a volume where the shared drives & folders reside:
Step 5: You will now have gained access to the Novell server. You need to locate where the shared folders reside. The images below show you which folders to double click to gain access to the shared folders:
