Summary of Review Strategy - Managing the Process

(This is the process to be followed from March 2004 after several weeks of planning which have involved development and consultation on the Terms of Reference and Review information sessions with the Faculty Executive Group, the Executive Committee, Portfolio Committees and Faculty staff at Faculty Day)

Managers/teams to examine ToR and identify possible sources of data in preparation for meetings with Associate Deans. Listing of known and potential data sources for relevant ToR To be done before meetings with ADs on 25 and 26 March
Establish Faculty Review website Review website on staff Insite which will provide access to all relevant Review documents and updates Review site to be up and running by 26 March 2004
To compile External Panel member list To decide on and ascertain availability of external panel members To be locked away by 30 April 2004
Workshops with Managers and Associate Deans to flesh out Guidelines and data sources. Identification of data sources and responsibilities for co-ordination, collection and collation Individual meetings to be scheduled with ADs 25 and 26 March
Identified data to be gathered Compiling of data into appropriate ToR bundles Conducting focus groups, surveys etc to collect data not available To be completed by 30 April
Assoc Deans to write draft Portfolios responses for circulation to portfolio committee and to place on web for staff consultation To prepare draft responses to relevant ToR for consultation with staff. The Portfolio Responses will become the source material fro the Review Document To be completed by 31 May
Review Document to be written. Review to consist of 10,000 words with Appendices. To be completed by 30 June 2004
External Panel to visit in August/September, all three campuses, to verify Faculty Review process Report from external panel; Report from external panel; Report anticipated September/October 2004
