This group is no longer operational.
The Research Candidature and Examination Sub-committee manages candidature
and research examinations consistent with Faculty policies and processes
and advises and reports to Research Committee.
The Committee will normally meet a minimum of three times per year but
may be convened as needed to deal with examiners reports.
Recommendations and decisions will be forwarded to the Research Committee
for noting and action as required.

Nominated members will normally hold office for one year.
- To recommend to Research Committee on the admission and progress
of research masters and BEd (honours) candidates and the award of scholarships
- To recommend to PhD and Scholarships Committee the admission
and progress of doctoral candidates, the award of scholarships and the
conduct of doctoral thesis examinations
- To approve criteria for, and monitor the appointment of,
research project supervisors
- To consider and make recommendations to the Research Committee
on research project examination issues (eg guidelines provided to examiners,
selection of examiners)
- To approve criteria for, and monitor the appointment of,
research project examiners.
- To determine final Masters research project/thesis results
based on examiners' reports
- To determine final BEd honours results based on examiners'
reports and coursework results.
- To review, annually, the examination process and to propose
and develop changes when considered necessary
- To determine recipients of scholarships and awards
- To forward reports on examination results, scholarships and
awards to the Research Committee.
