In terms of research funding, topics covered include track record considerations, assembling the best team for the job, communication of substantive and methedological components, conducting a coherent program of funding applications, as well as some of the classic traps and opportunities in research funding applications. In relation to managing the funded research, topics covered include the best mix and use of research students and research assistants, effective use of funds to maximise output, keeping the research on-track, on-time and on-budget, selecting outlets for dissemination of results, and some of the classic traps and opportunities in the research process. {Note: Please RSVP your attendance to: Rondinne.Hills@education.monash.edu.au. About Assoc Professor Andrew Martin
Andrew Martin is Research Associate Professor and International Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney specializing in motivation, engagement, achievement, and quantitative research methods. Andrew has written over 150 peer reviewed journal articles, chapters and published conference papers; written 3 books for parents and teachers (published in 5 languages); compiled 12 commissioned government reports; won 9 ARC grants and 15 government and non-government research tenders; is Associate Editor of 'Journal of Educational Psychology' and 'British Journal of Educational Psychology'; on several top-tier journal Editorial Boards; reviews for numerous international research councils; has presented over 100 invited presentations; and had his work featured in over 200 radio, television, newspaper, newsletter, and web outlets.
