International unit

The International Unit operates under the direction of the Faculty Development Office and contributes to the overall development, growth and diversification of the business of the Faculty in the international sector within the Monash Global Framework. The objectives of the unit are both broad and operational across a range of areas including international student recruitment and support, maintaining and developing overseas partner relationships and programs, and international project management.

International on campus applications

The International Unit processes all international student applications and has a commitment efficiency and quality customer service. Tasks undertaken are:

International student services

The International Unit has a friendly staff devoted to the provision of effective and sensitive academic and pastoral care services to international students. Services include:

  • Academic support and seminars
  • English language support and seminars
  • Organised social events and excursions (details are emailed to all Education international students Monash address)
  • Register of household items for the benefit of international students (contact Administrative Officer, International Student Support)
  • Regular newsletters to inform international students of Faculty news and initiatives (details are emailed to all Education international students Monash address)
  • Alumni services

International offshore programs

The International Unit manages the application procedures, ongoing student administration, and liaison with offshore partners to monitor quality services to all stakeholders. These award programs are developed to be delivered in a variety of modes including face-to-face teaching at overseas locations.

International projects

The International Unit project manages a variety of international projects and assists to develop collaborative partnerships leading to international project opportunities [link to Project component of website for more information]. The Faculty’s tradition of scholarly research, professional education and community service is substantial, having been built progressively since 1964 to be one of the leading centres of postgraduate research and training in Australia. The Faculty of Education has extensive experience in developing, implementing and delivering projects around the world. Recent and ongoing projects include:
