  1. To be eligible to graduate from the course students must have completed a minimum of 80 days of satisfactory teaching practice.
  2. To receive the awards of Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education, a student must successfully complete units totalling 192 points, consisting of:
    1. Studies in education (96 points), a series of units relating to the theory and practice of education, teaching and curriculum. Fieldwork placements are also included.
    2. Studies in music (108 points). There are two major study sequences in music, one of which is performance and the other is either musicology, composition or ethnomusicology (or an approved combination of more than one of these areas).
      # Select two of the following first-year units: MUS1120 Ensemble studies I and MUS1130 Ensemble studies II; or MUS1040 American music and popular culture and MUS1060 Gamelan performing arts.

Progressively over the course, students will be completing more of the education component, until the final year which will be entirely education.
